You donít have to go far from home to enjoy the vast and abundant fishing in Southern Ontario. Somehow we all seem to think that the quantity, size, and quality of fish is directly proportionate to how far we have to travel to catch them. Nothing could be further from true. Donít get me wrong, a week long fly-in trip in Northern Ontario is something to remember but my absolute best fishing has often been right here in Southern Ontario within a half hour of home.
Winter, summer, spring or fall, Southern Ontario offers fishing opportunities for all skill levels and boasts a wide variety of fish species like walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, speckled trout, rainbow trout, Pacific salmon, lake trout, pike, musky, whitefish, carp, perch, crappie, and a variety of pan fish.
